Wiltshire Women's 1st XI start the season with a win!

Wiltshire Women kicked off their season with a T20 double header against Cornwall on Easter Monday, and the day resulted in a first win for the Wiltshire Women's 1st XI since 2018!

The two fixtures formed the opening weekend of the ECB Women's County T20 competition.

Match One

In game one, Cornwall batted first and quickly found themselves 44-6. However, runs from Robyn Edge (23), Caitlin Burnett (30) and Isabel Grant-French (29) helped Cornwall reach 116-3 from their 20 overs. For Wiltshire, there were exceptional figures of 4-13 from Emily Smith as well as two wickets for Katie Sell and a wicket apiece for Emily Otton and Katy Cobb.

Wiltshire's chase was led by strong innings from Emily Smith (33) and Emily Bogg (41), but it still required runs from the last ball as captain Isla Thomson managed to lead Wiltshire home with 12 not out, accompanied at the other end by debutant Lauren Shrubsole. Wiltshire finished on 116-3 to open their campaign with a win!
