Wiltshire CCC Awards

Following the presentation of the age group awards it was fantastic to then be able to recognise the performances of our National County 1st XI during the same evening. Playing for the county 1st XI is something we hope our young cricketers will aspire to doing in the future and with this in mind it is wonderful to celebrate their awards on the same evening.

Congratulations to the following Wiltshire CCC awards for the 2023 season:

Wiltshire CCC Young Player - DYLAN CHURCH

Wiltshire CCC Player of the Year - JACK MYNOTT

Special Recognition Award - BRIAN WHITE

The evening culminated with a very special recognition award.

Brian White first represented Wiltshire CCC in 1963 as a left handed batter and right arm off break bowler. What followed was 29 seasons of commitment and outstanding performances as Brian went on to represent the county in 215 Minor Counties Championship matches, 15 List A matches and 13 Minor Counties Trophies matches. Across these matches, Brian amassed over 10,000 runs for Wiltshire, scoring five hundreds and passing fifty a further 57 times. Some incredible statistics reflecting an outstanding Minor Counties career.

Post his playing days, Brian has remained an ever present within Wiltshire Cricket. Brian was Wiltshire CCC from 1998 through to the merger with the Cricket Boardin 2021 and during that time Brian also spent a long time as Treasurer of the Cricket Board prior to its incorporation in 2010. As well as being Treasurer for the County Club, Brian's remit has always been much wider as he has been intrumental in supporting the wider committee and prodviding invaluable advice and counsel to many players and captains over the years. To this date, Brian remains fully involved with Wiltshire CCC as an active member of the 1st XI steering group and attending all National Counties matches.

2023 represented sixty years since Brian's first involvement with Wiltshire Cricket and so it felt just right that his incredible service was recognised at this year's awards.

Thank you, Brian
