Introduction of MCC Foundation Hubs
Wiltshire Cricket recognises that the data above is very similar to the data collected in 2023-2024 and therefore does not represent any significant changes.
However, subsequent to our first collection of data in 2023-2024, we have expanded our Talent Pathway programme to include our new partnership with the MCC Foundation, which has resulted us running our first MCC Foundation Hubs in 2024-2025. This has seen us deliver programmes to:
- Girls Under 14s - 14 players
- Girls Under 16s - 15 players
- Boys Under 14s - 19 players
- Boys Under 16s - 19 players
All of the 67 children above are from state schools and have received a 10 week coaching programme followed by match play programmer this summer.
Introduction of State School Only Representative Fixtures
in 2024, Wiltshire Cricket introdcued our first series of State School only reprsentative fixtures, at Boys Under 12s/13s and Boys Under 14s/15s. These fixtures were a great success and gave carried on in to 2025.
Launch of Listening to Children Policy

In 2024 we launched our new Listening to Children guidance. This document outlines why it is important that we listen to the views of children and provide an environment in which they feel comfortable and safe in speaking out. Complementing the guidance is an anonymous feedback form that can be accessed here:
Wiltshire Cricket Listening to Children Anonymised Feedback Form
We were pleased to have received a number of responses in 2024 and are keen to see the form continue to be used by children throughout our pathway.
To work alongside the Listening to Children guidance, ahead of our 2024-2025 Talent Pathway programme we were also pleased to launch a new resource; our Post Game Conversations document for parents.
Developing a Parents Charter
A work in progress within our talent pathway is our Parents Charter. This is a project involving Wiltshire Cricket to design and implement a Parents Charter to help parents and carers support young cricketers involved in County Pathway Cricket and which will support our players pre and post-game, driving good behaviours and respect for all.
To support the development of this charter, all talent pathway parents and guardians have been invited to share their opinions on Pathway Cricket in the county to help begin the formation of the Parents Charter.
