A memorable season for Wiltshire's County Women's 1st XI in the first year of the new Women’s Domestic Structure!
Wiltshire CCC County Women's season has come to a close following last week's victory over Cambridgeshire in the Metro Bank Tier 3 Division 1 competition; a win that means Wiltshire retain their Division 1 status for 2026.
2025 was a significant year for the County Women's game. In 2024, the ECB confirmed details regarding the new women’s domestic structure that would come in to operation from the 2025 season. This new structure has seen increased investment going into the Women’s county game and as part of this there has been significant focus on developing the girls’ pathways that underpin and feed professional women’s county cricket. On that note, Wiltshire Cricket was delighted to launch its Talent Pathway partnership with Glamorgan CCC in November 2024 and since this time we have seen the commencement of our first ever Emerging Player Programme in Wiltshire.
With regards Wiltshire's Women's 1st XI, we were delighted to be confirmed as a Division 1 county within the new Tier 3 structure (for 2025 Wiltshire had been placed in to Division 1 of the new Women’s Tier 3 structure); this was a testament to the strong performances and reputation that our County Women’s structure has built up in recent years.
As 2025 has progressed, we have seen several landmark moments ...
- In March 2025, we announced a sponsorship agreement with Eden Renewables. This enabled us to enhance our offer to our players beyind what could be achieved through the ECB investment. Eden Renewables healdine investment helped us to kit and equip our players, invest in analysis equipment and ensure physio support for the team throughout the season
- In April 2025, we followed the above with an announcement of a partnership with Southern Academy of Sport. This has seen us able to offer enhanced strength and conditioning support throughout our Women's and Girls' pathway
- In July 2025, Wiltshire's Women won the first ever Vitality T20 Blast (L3) Trophy in a memorable day at Wormsley
As the season comes to an end, we would like to say a huge thank you to all of the players, coaches, umpires, scorers, physios, analysts, host clubs and sponsors/partners who have made this season possible!
Importantly, a big thank you to the wonderful supporters and followers of the Wiltshire Women, who have travelled to support the team at home and across the country!!
A year to remember, as Wiltshire Women finish the season as the first team to lift the Vitality T20 Blast (L3) Trophy too!!
