Eight Wiltshire Players selected to represent Western Storm Academy and EPP Squads next season!

 The Western Storm Senior Women's Squad sits within the regional structure model, which provides world class training, coaching and match play opportunities to develop the most talented female players for sustained international success and drive the performance of England women’s cricket.

Underneath the Women's Senior Squads, Western Storm provides high-quality training and match-play opportunities for talented young cricketers from across the 6 feeder counties; Cornwall, Devon, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Wales and Wiltshire.

These talent programmes consist of 2 branches;
- Western Storm Academy
- Western Storm Emerging Player Programme

Western Storm Academy:
The 'Storm Academy' is made up from 12 players from across the South West Region, all of whom show exciting and promising potential to play high-level senior cricket in years to come. The Storm Academy players gain access to a number of cricket performance opportunities including weekly training sessions, Strength & Conditioning sessions, Physiotherapy access and remote-access nutrition, analysis and psychology support. In addition to this, the Academy also have a comprehensive match-play schedule in the summer months and access to training sessions with the Western Storm Senior Squad.

Western Storm 'Emerging Player Programme'
The 'Storm EPP' is a brand-new programme in 2022/23, which bridges that gap between County Cricket and the Storm Academy. A total of 36 players have been selected for this winter's training schedule from across the 6 feeder counties. The players selected for the EPP will gain access to regular training opportunities at a number of hubs across the region, plus access to additional performance support, including Strength & Conditioning, Fitness Testing and Functional Screening, Individual Development Plans and remote-access workshops. Many of the players involved with the EPP sessions will have the ambition to break into the Storm Academy in future seasons.

WIltshire's Nominations:

This Autumn, Wiltshire Cricket were delighted to nominate 8 players to attend a series of regional observation sessions, where expert coaches assessed and observed a wide variety of performance skills and characteristics, before selecting players for the Academy and EPP Squads.

Of the 8 players nominated for observations, Wiltshire Cricket is delighted to announce that all 8 players have been selected for either the Western Storm Academy or EPP Programme.

A huge congratulations to each of our players and to the other players from across the region for this remarkable achievement and opportunity! Wiltshire Cricket would like to wish each of the players the best of luck for the upcoming winter training sessions and the 2023 season!
