Swindon CC to host Wiltshire CCC Showcase fixture against Glamorgan in 2024

The NCCA Showcase games are an initiative that started in 2021. The games represent a fantastic opportunity for the National Counties to test themselves against the best players in the country. They are also an opportunity to showcase the huge pool of talent within the National Counties, as well as shine a light on the huge amounts of effort that are put in to recreational cricket across the UK. With all games taking place across a fixed window it presents an opportunity for a light to be shone on the level of Cricket immediately below the professional game.

In Wiltshire, our showcase games have previously taken place against Gloucestershire with a fixture at Bristol in 2021 followed by two fixtures at the Cheltenham Festival in 2022 and 2023. However, as part of a refresh of opposition, we are delighted that in 2024 we will be playing against Glamorgan with this year's 50 over fixture taking place at Swindon CC on Sunday 21st July.

A return of National Counties standard Cricket to Swindon CC is just reward for the fantastic work that the club has  done in recent years, and for the way in which Swindon CC have supported Wiltshire Cricket more broadly; With regards junior cricket the club has become one of the leading providers of players for the Wiltshire Talent Pathway. The club has also supported broader initiatives such as hosting All Stars and Dynamos camps, hosting multiple primary school competitions, hosting school SEND competitions, and hosting our weekly Lord's Taverner Super 1s hubs during the summer.

In the coming months, Wiltshire Cricket will be working closely with Swindon CC to plan the event in more detail and with this in mind we will keep the cricketing community across Wiltshire informed of our plans.
